Overview

Carrus Group, a courier company based in Isando, is seeking experienced Code 8 (B) or Code 10 (C1) Drivers with a valid PDP. The role focuses on safe, efficient deliveries and collections while providing professional, customer-facing service and completing essential delivery documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to complete scheduled deliveries and collections on assigned routes.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects and maintain vehicle roadworthiness.
• Load, secure, and offload parcels; obtain and record proof of delivery (POD) and returns.
• Update delivery status using company systems or mobile scanners and complete basic paperwork.
• Liaise with dispatch, warehouse teams, and clients; handle queries professionally.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel/expense logs, and adhere to traffic and company safety policies.
• Manage cash-on-delivery/returns where applicable and assist with general courier operations.

Requirements & Skills

• Valid South African Code 8 (B) or Code 10 (C1) Driver’s Licence with a valid PDP.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ professional driving experience (courier/logistics experience advantageous).
• Proven safe and responsible driving record; strong route planning and time management.
• Ability to complete delivery documentation accurately; basic numeracy and record-keeping.
• Customer service orientation with clear, professional communication.
• Physically fit to handle parcels and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Screening: Shortlisted candidates must complete a compulsory polygraph test (R450 fee refundable if you pass).
