Overview
Phakisa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Code 14 Driver with a valid PDP to join our operations in Wadeville. This role involves operating a truck with a Tautliner trailer for the safe and timely transport of goods. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of road safety regulations, excellent driving skills, and a reliable, professional approach to logistics.
Key Responsibilities
-Operate a Code 14 truck with a Tautliner trailer in compliance with traffic laws and company policies
-Transport goods between various locations, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries
-Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure operational safety and roadworthiness
-Conduct basic maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues or damages
-Accurately maintain vehicle logs, delivery notes, and inspection reports
-Ensure goods are safely loaded, secured, and unloaded in accordance with health and safety regulations
-Communicate efficiently with dispatch and logistics teams regarding schedules and updates
-Report any accidents, incidents, or traffic violations as required
-Uphold professionalism and high customer service standards during all interactions
-Adhere to all company protocols and industry regulations
Requirements and Qualifications
-Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license
-Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Code 14 driver
-Proven experience operating Tautliner trailers
-Grade 12 / Matric qualification
-Strong understanding of South African traffic laws and road safety procedures
-Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks such as loading and unloading
-Ability to work independently and maintain punctuality
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious attitude
