Positions: Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver (Code 14)
Job Type: Permanent
Locations: Standerton, Clayville, Cape Town, Tulisa Park
Closing Dates: 11 – 19 April 2025
Responsibilities (Per Contract):
Astral – Goldi (Standerton)
- Operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles for loading, transporting, and offloading goods.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain operational efficiency.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and adhere to SOPs and safety procedures.
Astral – Festive (Clayville)
- Transport goods using Superlink/Interlink combinations.
- Complete trip documentation and report vehicle defects.
- Ensure compliance with route schedules and safe driving practices.
Rainbow Worcester (Cape Town)
- Oversee secure loading and unloading processes.
- Ensure adherence to National Road Traffic Act requirements.
- Maintain professional interaction with clients during deliveries.
Safripol (Tulisa Park)
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain logbooks.
- Assist in securing cargo and verifying transport documentation.
- Participate in safety drills and follow vehicle SOPs.
Anchor Yeast (Cape Town)
- Operate tankers and long-distance combinations.
- Ensure loads are secured and safety equipment is functional.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping of vehicle and follow PPE protocols.
Minimum Requirements (All Roles):
- Grade 12 (minimum Grade 10 for some roles)
- Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s license with PrDP
- Minimum 3 years’ driving experience with ultra-heavy vehicles
- Experience with Superlink, Interlink, and Tankers (role dependent)
- Familiarity with defensive driving, emergency procedures, and vehicle inspections
- Medically fit with a clean criminal record
- Must be 25 years or older for certain roles
- Own reliable transport
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Valid passport required for Anchor Yeast role
