Overview:
Quantum Foods (Pty) Ltd. is offering an exciting opportunity for 2 x experienced Code 14 Drivers to join our Distribution team at Kosmos Rearing Farm – Bergvlei Chicks in Gauteng. Reporting directly to the Distribution Controller, the successful candidates will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and hygienic transport of hens to and from various farm locations. This role requires professionalism, a strong sense of responsibility, and adherence to biosecurity and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any damages or mechanical faults.
-Maintain truck cleanliness and sanitation to ensure hygienic conditions.
-Safely load and secure hens to minimize stress and ensure welfare during transit.
-Comply with road safety regulations and all company transport policies.
-Ensure accurate delivery documentation, including signed delivery invoices.
-Adhere strictly to biosecurity protocols throughout each trip.
-Report delivery variances or incidents promptly to the Distribution Controller.
-Operate within scheduled timelines to ensure timely and safe transportation.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric) / Senior Certificate
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) and passport
- Valid medical certificate
- Minimum 5 years of professional driving experience in a similar environment
- Clear criminal record and sober habits
- Physically and medically fit with traceable and reliable references
- Strong communication, basic writing, and mathematical skills
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required by operations
