Overview

Sandfire is seeking a highly qualified Safety Health & Environmental (SHE) Superintendent to join its team at the Ghanzi process plant. The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation and management of health, safety, and environmental (HSW) programs across Sandfire operations, including the Tšhukudu Exploration Project.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental programs.
• Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal company requirements.
• Provide technical advice and support to operational departments.
• Manage HSE risks and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead the day-to-day management and performance of the HSE Department.
• Report directly to the Principal Geologist regarding HSE matters.
• Contribute to fostering a safety-first culture within the organization.

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health, Safety, or Environmental Management.
• Significant experience in an HSE leadership role within mining, construction, or heavy industry environments.
• Strong knowledge of Botswana’s HSE legislation and international best practices.
• Ability to manage compliance programs and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
