Overview:
Ackermans is seeking energetic, customer-focused individuals to join our team as Shop Assistant/Cashiers (P27). This is a fantastic opportunity to gain retail experience and deliver exceptional service during peak periods.

Purpose of the Role:
To deliver an outstanding shopping experience through effective stock replenishment, merchandising, maintaining store standards, and processing transactions quickly and accurately at till points.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Assist customers in locating products
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally
- Create a positive shopping environment
- Cashier Duties:
- Process payments via cash and card
- Handle lay-bys and refunds
- Balance tills and report discrepancies
- Merchandising & Housekeeping:
- Display and price products correctly
- Ensure shelves are stocked and tidy
- Stay updated on current promotions
- Risk Management:
- Tag products according to policy
- Assist in stock taking
- Monitor and report suspicious activities
- Company Values:
- Uphold Ackermans’ values, policies, and procedures
- Display professionalism in all interactions
Skills & Experience Required:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (English essential; additional languages beneficial)
- Energetic, tenacious, and target-driven
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
- Previous retail experience is an advantage
