Overview:
Absa Bank Botswana is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead its Wholesale Operations division. As a key member of our leadership team, the Head of Wholesale Operations will be responsible for developing, managing, and continuously improving operational workflows and resources aligned with the bankโs strategy. This role demands a strategic thinker who can enhance productivity, drive process automation, and foster a culture of excellence in service delivery across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective operational strategy in alignment with the Group’s vision and goals.
- Optimize business processes using scientific efficiency methodologies and tools.
- Champion the use of automation tools (including low/no-code solutions) to reduce manual interventions.
- Monitor transaction-level operations to proactively identify and resolve customer experience issues.
- Drive service excellence by adopting and applying productivity, quality management, and service delivery frameworks.
- Promote a consistent, reliable 24/7 service model with minimal human touch.
- Lead and support multiple teams to achieve synergy and high-performance results.
- Foster a culture of discipline, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure alignment with Absa Bank Botswanaโs operational framework and broader group strategy.
Requirements and Skills:
- Bachelorโs or Masterโs Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within a large organization.
- Proven experience in managing large teams across diverse operational areas.
- Demonstrated knowledge in:
- Process Efficiency and Improvement Frameworks
- Operational Excellence and Process Optimisation
- Process Automation Techniques
- Agile methodologies such as Squad/Tribe models
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.
