Introduction

The South African Police Service invites applications from suitably qualified South African citizens for six (6) Administration Officer (Sergeant) posts within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) environment at SAPS Head Office in Pretoria.

These roles are ideal for candidates with strong administrative, project support, and documentation control skills who want to contribute to national infrastructure and programme delivery within a disciplined public-service environment.

Salary / Remuneration

  • Band A: R299,406 โ€“ R368,796 per annum (excluding benefits)

Core Functions & Responsibilities

The successful candidates will provide end-to-end project office and administrative support, including:

  • Undertaking clerical and administrative duties within the project office
  • Updating the Project Management Dashboard and National Treasury IRM system
  • Providing project management support across the project lifecycle
  • Filing and archiving all project deliverables and documentation
  • Coordinating and arranging client and stakeholder meetings
  • Managing document control and transmission processes
  • Preparing accurate minutes of meetings
  • Ensuring gateway review templates are completed and filed
  • Coordinating site visit arrangements for project teams
  • Assisting Project Managers with risk registers and dashboard compilation
  • Updating presentations and reports for internal and external use
  • Assisting with bid specification and tender documentation packaging
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and communication management

Generic Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following:

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or NCV (NQF Level 4) recorded on the NLRD
  • Proficiency in at least two official languages, one being English
  • South African citizenship (documentary proof required)
  • Valid light motor vehicle driverโ€™s licence
  • No previous convictions or pending criminal, departmental, or civil cases
  • No visible tattoos when wearing SAPS uniform
  • Willingness to undergo security vetting, including fingerprint verification

Additional Requirements

  • Certificate or higher (NQF Level 5 or above) accredited by SAQA in a Built Environment field, such as:
    • Project Management
    • Business Administration
    • Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering
    • Or a related built-environment qualification
  • Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software
