Job Overview

The City of Tshwane invites applications for Bus Driver (11 posts) within Tshwane Bus Services. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of passengers and commuters using the City’s public transport infrastructure, while complying with all traffic laws, safety standards, and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport passengers along designated routes and schedules
• Ensure passengers correctly tap in and tap out using the Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system
• Follow assigned routes or instructions from control/management
• Perform special duty functions when required
• Comply with the National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996) and all applicable legislation
• Maintain professionalism and ensure passenger safety at all times

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10
• Relevant experience driving heavy motor vehicles
• Valid driving licence: Code C, C1 (04), EC1 (04) or EC
• Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)
• No criminal record
• Physically fit and medically healthy
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and public holidays
• Must undergo a criminal record check and allow fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department (at own cost)
