Overview
Pick n Pay is seeking over 20 dedicated and customer-focused Cashiers to join our dynamic teams across South Africa. As a cashier, you will play a vital role in the customer experience by efficiently processing transactions, maintaining accuracy, and delivering exceptional service at the point of sale.
Key Responsibilities
-Operate the till and scanner efficiently to process customer purchases
-Prepare and manage daily float accurately
-Receive and process all forms of payment, including cash, card, vouchers, and loyalty transactions
-Balance the till at the end of each shift
-Upsell relevant products and services where applicable
-Maintain high hygiene and housekeeping standards
-Prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damage
-Adhere strictly to security procedures and reporting protocols
-Interact professionally and courteously with customers
-Resolve customer queries or escalate them when necessary
Minimum Requirements
-Minimum Grade 10 (Grade 12 is advantageous)
-Basic numeracy and literacy
-Computer literacy (advantageous)
-Ability to communicate effectively in English
-High level of integrity and ethical behaviour
-Customer-oriented with a positive attitude
-Strong time management and ability to follow process instructions
-Flexibility to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays
