Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is building a talent pool of Casual Cashiers for the Bedford Square store. This pool consists of pre-screened candidates who may be considered for future openings based on operational needs. Being part of the pool does not guarantee employment but increases your chances of selection.
The role supports frontline customer service and ensures smooth, accurate point-of-sale operations in line with Dis-Chemโs service standards.
Key Responsibilities
-Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional customer relations
-Process all payments accurately (cash, card, vouchers, coupons, loyalty programs)
-Adhere to Dis-Chemโs cash handling rules, security policies, and SOPs
-Maintain till accuracy with zero tolerance for errors and fraud risk
-Manage cash flow, till balancing, line void approvals and price changes
-Process returns and exchanges when authorised
-Monitor promotions, sales and customer turnover targets
-Report compliments, complaints, and suspicious activities
-Ensure all outgoing stock/scripts are scanned and paid for
-Safeguard personal cashier code/password and change regularly
-Support general merchandise queries and frontline communication standards
Requirements & Skills
Essential:
-Grade 12 / Matric
-Minimum 6 months cashier/till operation experience
-Computer literate (MS Office)
-Strong English communication skills
-Basic customer service skills
-Sound numerical ability
-Willing to work retail hours
