Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Casual Cleaner to join the team at our Medipark store in Kempton Park. The successful candidate will ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across all areas of the store, including the sales floor, back office, dispensary, and staff areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the store before opening and during operational hours.
- Clean and restock restrooms and staff canteen regularly.
- Use appropriate cleaning materials and equipment for different areas.
- Place wet floor signage clearly during cleaning to avoid hazards.
- Maintain professional behavior and assist customers when required.
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and company procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- At least 6 months of cleaning experience
- Ability to communicate in English (oral and written)
- Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Physically fit for tasks such as bending, lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods
- No criminal or credit record
- Must be a South African citizen
Preferred Requirements
- Previous retail store cleaning experience
- Ability to speak an additional language relevant to the area
- Basic customer service skills
- Trustworthy, punctual, and attentive to detail
