Overview

The Botswana Defence Force is hiring a Chief Catering Officer to oversee catering operations and food preparation standards across its establishments. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with hygiene regulations, develop innovative catering solutions, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain food service excellence.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Scale: D4 (P265,948 โ€“ P282,120 per annum)
  • Leave: 30 working days per annum
  • Benefits Include:
    • Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50%)
    • Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15%; employee pays 5%)
    • Housing and Upkeep Allowance of P309.00 per month

Key Responsibilities

-Oversee implementation of catering policies and compliance procedures.

-Develop and introduce innovative menus and food service solutions.

-Manage catering services to align with BDF’s operational goals.

-Maintain high standards of food hygiene and preparation.

-Supervise kitchen operations and staff performance.

-Control food inventory and ensure timely procurement of supplies.

-Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

-Support training and capacity-building of catering staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or any related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) yearsโ€™ work experience as a Principal Catering Officer at C1 salary scale or six (6) years in a similar role.
