Position Overview

The City of Tshwane is hiring General Workers for the Zeekoegat Waste Water Treatment Works. This position is essential to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and smooth operation of the facility. Successful candidates will support various labour-intensive tasks critical to wastewater treatment operations.


Job Level and Compensation

  • Job Level: T1
  • Monthly Salary: R12,504 โ€“ R14,614
  • Estimated Total Package: R18,577 โ€“ R21,262 per month
    (Total package includes municipal benefits and applicable allowances.)

Purpose of the Job

To perform general labour duties that ensure effective cleaning, maintenance, and operational support at the wastewater treatment plant.


Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Basic Literacy: Ability to read, follow, and understand instructions.
  • Physical Fitness: Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Experience: Previous work in a wastewater treatment environment is advantageous, but not required.
  • Task Competency: Ability to complete assigned duties efficiently and safely.

General Workers will be responsible for:

  • Site Maintenance: Digging, refilling trenches, and general upkeep
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Performing tasks assigned by supervisors
  • Safety Compliance: Following health and safety procedures at all times
