Overview

An opportunity is available for 12 Cleaners based in Kimberley. The successful candidates will provide professional cleaning and hygiene services within a public service environment, ensuring offices and facilities are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and safety. No prior experience is required.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 or ABET Level 2 certificate (or equivalent)
• No experience required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of Public Service procedures and Batho Pele Principles
• Knowledge of Public Service Act and Regulations
• Verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving ability

Key Responsibilities

Provision of Cleaning Services

• Clean offices and boardrooms
• Dust and wax office furniture
• Sweep, scrub, vacuum and shampoo floors
• Clean walls, glass doors and windows
• Empty and clean dirt bins
• Remove waste papers and refresh office areas

Kitchen Cleaning

• Clean basins and kitchen areas
• Wash and maintain stock of kitchen utensils
• Arrange water for meetings
• Refill hand wash liquid

Sanitation & General Areas

• Refill hand wash soap, toilet paper and paper towels
• Empty and clean waste bins
• Sweep corridors, passages and elevators daily
• Scrub and wax floors and stairs
• Clean elevator floors, mirrors and walls
• Keep corridors and windows clean

Equipment & Materials

• Report broken cleaning equipment
• Clean vacuum cleaners and machines after use
• Request cleaning materials when required
