Overview

ARRB Systems SA is seeking two experienced Code EC (Code 14) Drivers to join its project team. These roles involve operating specialised heavy-duty assessment vehicles, supporting field operations, and ensuring strict compliance with road safety and company regulations. The position requires travel flexibility (locally and internationally), responsibility, and hands-on involvement in both vehicle and equipment management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-departure inspections and basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Safely operate heavy-duty vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
  • Assist with calibrating specialised surveying equipment.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness (interior and exterior).
  • Ensure accurate completion of documentation, including timesheets and daily registers.
  • Adapt to operational requirements, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Travel extensively (2โ€“3 weeks at a time) and stay overnight when required.
  • Use company communication platforms (e.g., Email, MS Teams) effectively.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Valid Code EC (Code 14) driverโ€™s licence with PDP.
  • Minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ articulated driving experience.
  • Medically fit with a proven safe driving record.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Valid passport (must be available for international travel).

Skills & Knowledge

  • Defensive driving and advanced vehicle handling (including electronic gearboxes).
  • In-depth understanding of the Road Traffic Act.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to weather, traffic, and emergency conditions.
  • Proficiency in reporting mechanical defects, emergencies, or maintenance issues.
  • Competence in vehicle inspections and fire extinguisher use.
  • Basic computer literacy (advantageous).
