Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a reliable, professional, and customer-focused Courier Driver to join their Midrand team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely delivering parcels and documents, maintaining excellent service, and ensuring accurate record keeping throughout the delivery process.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

-Grade 12 / Matric

-Valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence

-Minimum 2 years’ door-to-door delivery experience

Advantageous

• PDP Licence

Key Responsibilities

Deliveries

-Deliver correct products to the correct clients/stores on time

-Follow the most efficient delivery routes

-Adhere to warehouse loading & offloading procedures

-Ensure all deliveries are checked and signed for

-Prevent loss/damage and take full accountability

-Maintain a professional appearance and follow uniform policy

-Complete daily Driver Trip Sheets

-Assist with offloading and unpacking where needed

-Return used boxes to correct bins at the Distribution Centre

Reporting

-Submit all signed Proof of Deliveries (PODs) daily

-Record all discrepancies on the DLS and have them co-signed

-Provide all delivery documentation to the Call Centre Clerk

Communication

-Liaise with Courier Call Centre Clerk regarding incorrect addresses or delivery issues

Vehicle Maintenance

-Conduct daily and weekly vehicle safety inspections

-Use the fuel card responsibly (only for the allocated vehicle)

-Report accidents, incidents, or defects immediately

-Adhere to road traffic laws

-Take responsibility for traffic fines incurred

-Responsible for excess fees if negligent in an accident

General

• Follow Dis-Chem SOPs, policies, and health & safety regulations

Special Conditions of Employment

• Must be physically fit (lifting boxes, loading/offloading)
• Willing to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
• Must have reliable transport or live near Midrand
• Clear credit & criminal record
• South African citizen
