Overview:

Detour Logistics Solutions is seeking for qualified Heavy Motor Vehicle Drivers for its operations in Kempton Park, Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have experience driving heavy vehicles and be responsible for transporting goods to various locations, performing routine vehicle maintenance, and maintaining accurate delivery records.

Responsibilities:

-Assist with and oversee the loading of goods onto the delivery vehicle.

-Verify that loaded goods match the Delivery Notes and sign off for the accepted load.

-Upon delivery, check goods against the Delivery Note and ensure customers sign as Proof of Delivery.

-Collect returned items as per the Goods Return Voucher (GRV) when necessary.

-Submit all returned goods and GRVs to the Depot/Stores/Dispatch Supervisor upon return to the warehouse.

  • Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks using the company’s Vehicle Checklist, reporting any issues before leaving the warehouse.
  • Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good working condition at all times.
  • Report any defects or potential vehicle issues to the Depot/Stores/Dispatch Supervisor promptly.

Requirements:

  • License: Valid Code 10 Driverโ€™s License (essential).
  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience as a delivery assistant (essential).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
