Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is hiring Cashiers across various Pharmacies nationwide. These are excellent entry-level opportunities, ideal for candidates with a passion for customer service who are eager to grow within the retail industry. No experience is required, but a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential.
You will support the customer service team at point of sale, ensure an efficient and accurate transaction process, and help deliver a world-class shopping experience.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric (Compulsory)
- No prior experience required – training will be provided
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office is a plus)
- Sound numerical skills
- Strong command of English (spoken and written)
- Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
- South African citizen with a clear credit and criminal record
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide excellent customer service at the point of sale
-Accurately process all transactions (cash, cards, loyalty rewards, vouchers, etc.)
-Ensure that all items are scanned and paid for before leaving the store
-Adhere to company policies regarding till procedures and cash handling
-Assist with customer queries and returns as per company guidelines
-Be familiar with ongoing promotions and in-store specials
-Ensure personal till is balanced and secure at all times
-Report any suspicious behaviour or security risks to management
-Support in general housekeeping and visual merchandising if required
