Overview
Rand Water is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to fill the role of Driverโs Aide at its Central Depot. The successful candidate will support Heavy Vehicle Drivers and Construction Plant Operators with daily operational tasks, housekeeping, and the safe handling of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist drivers with loading, offloading, and transporting of equipment
-Perform general housekeeping and yard cleaning duties
-Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and operational areas
-Support drivers with rigging, slinging, and tie-down of equipment
-Carry out other general support duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
-Grade 12 or N3
-Valid Driverโs License
-Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar environment
-Basic knowledge of rigging and slinging (advantageous)
Knowledge and Skills
- Safety awareness and basic rigging/slinging techniques
- Ability to tie down equipment securely
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and performance-driven attitude
