Overview

Premium Resources Botswana is seeking a qualified and experienced Dump Truck Operator to operate underground loading machines used to move ore and waste from production zones to designated storage or haulage areas. This position plays a crucial role in underground mining operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and equipment care.


Key Responsibilities

-Operate levers to load blasted materials into haul trucks or designated storage points underground.

-Drive machines into blasted muckpiles and organize materials to prevent equipment damage.

-Collaborate with Haul Truck Operators for safe and coordinated loading and unloading.

-Conduct pre-operation and during-operation inspections of the LHD, reporting any defects.

-Complete standard safety checklists and document any mechanical or operational issues.

-Assess material condition prior to loading to ensure safety and suitability.

-Perform risk assessments for each new loading area and comply with safety standards.

-Support maintenance teams in scheduled and emergency repairs of the LHD unit.

-Clean, fuel, and lubricate the machine at the end of each shift.

-Follow all underground mine safety and operational procedures rigorously.


    Requirements and Skills

    -Valid Underground LHD Operatorโ€™s License

    -Minimum BGCSE or equivalent

    -3โ€“5 years of hands-on experience operating LHDs in an underground mining environment

    -Heavy Duty Driving License (advantageous)

    -Multi-Skill Operator capability (advantageous)

    -Strong understanding of underground mining practices and equipment operation

    -Ability to assess risks and conduct inspections

    -Good communication and interpersonal skills

    -Ability to work in confined spaces

    -Commitment to safety and ability to demonstrate PNR values and core competencies
