Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a world-class chrome ore producer located near Lydenburg and Burgersfort in Limpopo, is seeking a qualified and safety-conscious Roof Bolter Operator to join its Mining North Division. Purpose of the Role

To safely operate the Roof Bolter machine in designated underground areas, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, production targets, and safety regulations in support of overall mining operations.


Minimum Requirements

Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate

Competent B Certificate

Valid Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence

-Completion of a relevant and approved training programme

Advantageous:

  • Minimum of 6 months mining experience in roles such as:
    • Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) Operator
    • Rock Drill Operator (RDO)
    • Blasting Assistant
    • LHD Operator

Key Responsibilities

-Safely operate the Roof Bolter machine in compliance with operational and safety standards

-Conduct pre-shift inspections of machine components to ensure safe and effective operation

-Identify and report any sub-standard performance, faults, or safety hazards

-Follow lock-out procedures when equipment is faulty and record failure time and machine location

-Perform minor maintenance such as greasing the boom, checking oil levels, tightening fittings, replacing consumables, and monitoring for leaks or mechanical faults

-Report complex mechanical issues to the Artisan or Maintenance Team

-Operate the Roof Bolter with care and in line with manufacturer specifications and company policies

-Monitor machine performance to ensure productivity and equipment longevity
