Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to support the development of the Motheo Project in Ghanzi.


Position Purpose:

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient installation and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems across Sandfireโ€™s Motheo operations. The role involves leading technical work, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting infrastructure development.


Key Responsibilities:

-Lead and execute electrical and instrumentation installation tasks

-Ensure all E&I work is completed safely and according to design specifications

-Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of equipment

-Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and ensure minimal operational downtime

-Collaborate with engineers and contractors on infrastructure development

-Adhere to regulatory, environmental, and company standards at all times

-Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment status

-Report any non-compliance or safety hazards promptly


Minimum Requirements:

-Diploma or Trade Certificate in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering

-Minimum of 3โ€“5 yearsโ€™ experience in mining, heavy industry, or large infrastructure projects

-Sound knowledge of relevant electrical and instrumentation codes and standards

-Strong troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning skills

-Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations

-Ability to work in remote locations and harsh environments

-Strong communication and teamwork skills
