Remuneration:
- Institution Phase: R4500 per month (stipend)
- Probation Phase (Post Training): R238,629 per annum (salary notch)
Overview:
The South African Police Service (SAPS) is seeking young, disciplined, and committed individuals from Gauteng to apply for the 2025/2026 Police Trainee Programme. The 21-month Basic Police Development Learning Programme prepares candidates to be permanently enlisted as Constables, serving communities with integrity and professionalism.
Minimum Requirements:
-South African citizen, aged between 18 and 35
-Grade 12 / Matric certificate (must be provided)
-Medically, physically, and mentally fit
-No criminal convictions or pending cases
-No visible tattoos while in uniform
-Not previously dismissed from public service for misconduct
-Not previously declared unfit to possess a firearm
-Not previously participated in a SAPS trainee programme
-Willing to serve anywhere in South Africa
Key Responsibilities:
- Prevent, combat, and investigate crime
- Maintain law and order
- Protect and secure the public and their property
- Uphold and enforce the Constitution and laws of South Africa
Preference Will Be Given To:
- Applicants with a valid driverโs license (light motor vehicle)
- Applicants with a tertiary qualification (NQF 6 or higher) in:
- Law
- Policing
- Forensics
- Criminology
