Overview
Premium Resources Botswana (PRB) is seeking a highly experienced Exploration Manager to lead all geological exploration activities at its Selebi and Selkirk Mines Projects. This role is pivotal in identifying, evaluating, and developing mineral resource opportunities aligned with PRBโs growth strategy. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise, project leadership, and a strong track record of successful resource development.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement short- and long-term exploration strategies that align with PRBโs corporate objectives.
- Project Oversight
- Lead greenfield and brownfield exploration programs, including budget management, resource allocation, and scheduling.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor geologists, technicians, and contractors, promoting safety, high performance, and professional development.
- Technical Evaluation
- Oversee geological mapping, drilling, sampling, and geophysical/geochemical surveys.
- Analyze data and collaborate with universities and external partners for advanced research.
- Resource Estimation
- Support or manage resource modeling and estimation in line with global reporting standards (e.g., NI 43-101).
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with government authorities, community leaders, and landowners to ensure compliant and responsible exploration.
- Reporting & Communication
- Produce exploration updates, technical reports, and presentations for executive leadership, investors, and regulators.
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelorโs or Masterโs degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field
- Minimum of 25 yearsโ experience in mineral exploration, including 15 years in a leadership position
- Demonstrated success in discovering economically viable mineral resources
- Expertise in GIS and geological modeling tools (Leapfrog, Datamine, DH Logger, Fusion, ArcGIS)
- Experience with NI 43-101 or similar international reporting codes
- Proficiency in deep-hole, directional, and wedging drilling techniques
- Strong background in structural geology and working with oriented drill core and televiewer data
- Ability to manage exploration databases, including QA/QC verification
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and budgeting skills
- Willingness to travel and work in remote field locations
- Experience in magmatic nickel-copper sulphide environments and underground operations is highly desirable
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
