Overview

The Botswana Defence Force is looking for 11 highly motivated and disciplined Firefighters to support its operations across various military camps. Successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking firefighting duties, ensuring emergency response readiness, and promoting safety standards in accordance with the BDFโ€™s crash, fire, and rescue policies.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Scale: B3/2 (P65,508 โ€“ P91,344 per annum)
  • Leave: 20 working days per annum
  • Benefits Include:
    • Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50%)
    • Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15%; employee pays 5%)
    • Housing and Upkeep Allowance of P398.80 per month
    • Firefighters overtime allowance (30% of basic salary)

Key Responsibilities

-Undertake firefighting operations to protect life and property.

-Respond to fire and rescue emergencies promptly.

-Conduct fire prevention inspections and hazard assessments.

-Perform equipment maintenance and ensure readiness.

-Assist in fire investigations and incident reporting.

-Participate in fire drills and training programs.

-Promote awareness of fire safety procedures within the camps.

-Ensure readiness for crash and rescue missions in military environments.

Minimum Requirements

-Basic Firemanship Course.

-Basic Ambulance Course (added advantage).

-Direct Entry only โ€“ No prior work experience required.
