Overview

The North West Department of Health invites applications for four (4) Food Service Aid II posts at Mafikeng Provincial Hospital. Successful candidates will support the hospitalโ€™s catering services by maintaining kitchen hygiene, assisting with food and beverage preparation, and ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

-Clean kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas; remove garbage safely.

-Provide catering support services and keep stock of kitchen utensils and equipment.

-Apply hygiene and safety measures; maintain quality control for all food provided.

-Prepare snacks and beverages (e.g., water, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, cold drinks).

-Set up and convey crockery, cutlery, and equipment to dining areas.

-Serve food and beverages timeously and courteously.

-Assist with responsibility for food supplies and report waste and losses.

Requirements & Skills

NQF Level 1 & 2 (ABET Level Certificate or equivalent).

-Ability to read and write.

-Basic knowledge of food service management.

-Good interpersonal relations and customer-friendly conduct.

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Salary: R138,486 per annum (plus benefits) at Public Service Level 2.
  • Benefits in accordance with Public Service Regulations and departmental policy.
