Overview
Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking a dedicated and hardworking General Worker for the Water Section. The successful candidate will assist with manual labour tasks to support operational efficiency, maintain safety, and ensure cleanliness in work areas. Preference will be given to applicants residing within the Midvaal area and those who meet the employment equity targets. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and off-load materials and equipment using protective gear and safety tools.
- Place traffic warning signs during road excavation to ensure safety.
- Clean in and around the work area using various manual labour tools to maintain cleanliness.
- Perform general labour duties as instructed by supervisors or superintendents.
- Follow all legal and operational instructions to ensure productivity.
- Carry out other related ad hoc duties as requested by management.
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 10 (Grade 12 is an added advantage).
- Valid Driverโs License (added advantage).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (must be bilingual).
- Reside within the Midvaal area (preference given).
- Ability to follow and execute instructions effectively.
- Good physical health and basic skills for manual work.
- Self-disciplined and hardworking.
- Minimum of 1 year relevant experience as a General Worker in a water section within Local Government. (Advantageous)
