Position Title: Government Cleaner
Location: Various Government Departments across all 9 Provinces
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: R138,486 per annum (Level 02), plus benefits
Closing Date: 07 July 2025
Overview:
Government departments across South Africa are hiring committed and hardworking individuals to fill multiple Cleaner vacancies. These roles are essential in maintaining clean, safe, and hygienic environments in public facilities including libraries, campuses, museums, and government offices. Applicants must demonstrate reliability, physical stamina, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
-Sanitize restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, and public spaces.
-Empty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
-Clean mirrors, glass surfaces, and windows.
-Maintain cleanliness in common areas including stairwells, corridors, and lobbies.
-Adhere to established cleaning protocols and health & safety standards.
Requirements:
-Minimum educational qualification: Grade 9 or ABET Level 4 (or equivalent).
-Prior cleaning or janitorial experience is advantageous.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
-Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
-Physically fit and able to perform manual labour.
-Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals is an added advantage.
-Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
