Overview
The Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport is seeking dedicated individuals to fill 7 General Worker positions. This is a hands-on opportunity for individuals with basic education and practical experience to contribute to the maintenance and security of government-managed areas.
Key Responsibilities
-Perform manual labour duties including routine farming activities and bush clearing.
-Control and monitor quarantined animals and inspect permits.
-Register, stop, and search vehicles in redline zones.
-Patrol, repair, and maintain fencing and gates.
-Track animal movements and ensure compliance with biosecurity rules.
-Keep accurate records and registers related to vehicle movements and quarantine procedures.
-Operate basic gardening tools and maintenance equipment.
Entry Requirements
-Minimum Grade 8 / ABET Level 2 or equivalent.
-Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
-Ability to read and write effectively.
-General knowledge of cleaning, security, or gardening procedures.
-Physically fit for manual labour and outdoor work.
-Good interpersonal and communication skills.
-Ability to work in a team and show dedication to duty.
