Overview:
Grain Field Chicken, a division of Unitrans, is looking for a skilled and reliable Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver (Code 14) to join our transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare and inspect ultra-heavy vehicles before trips.
–Load, transport, and offload goods efficiently and safely.
-Ensure all required documentation (trip logs, delivery records) is completed accurately.
-Comply with all safety procedures, SOPs, and traffic regulations.
-Maintain a clean and professional vehicle appearance.
-Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or emergencies as per company protocols.
-Ensure proper loading and offloading techniques are followed to maximize efficiency.
-Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
-Undergo required medical evaluations, training, and driving assessments.
Requirements:
–Grade 12 (Matric) / National Certificate.
–Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s license with a valid PrDP.
–Valid passport.
–Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy-duty vehicles.
–3 years’ experience operating Superlink, Interlink, or combination vehicles.
-Strong knowledge of defensive driving techniques and vehicle inspection procedures.
-Ability to operate fire extinguishers and follow emergency reporting protocols.
–Own reliable transport to and from work.
–Medically fit and able to pass pre-employment screening.
–Clean criminal record and safe driving history.
–Must reside in Reitz or surrounding areas.
