Overview:
The Central Bank of Lesotho invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Head, Treasury Operations Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all foreign currency investments, payments, and receipts are accurately processed and accounted for in the Bankโs General Ledger in accordance with international financial standards and practices. This strategic leadership role plays a key part in the Financial Markets Department.
Key Responsibilities:
-Oversee the confirmation, settlement, and accounting of all foreign currency transactions.
-Ensure third-party foreign payments and receipts are processed through payment systems efficiently and securely.
-Supervise all Treasury Operations Division personnel and provide guidance and leadership.
-Ensure all deals with counterparties are properly confirmed and settled.
-Maintain accurate accounting records of all processed transactions in compliance with IFRS.
-Reconcile all reserve management-related accounts regularly.
-Prepare and manage the divisionโs annual budget and monitor financial performance.
-Develop and implement the annual work plan for the division.
-Manage settlement and accounting processes for local securities issued on behalf of the Government of Lesotho.
-Maintain and nurture relationships with correspondent banks and other key clients.

Qualifications and Experience:
-Masterโs degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; or
-Professional certifications such as CA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
-A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
-Knowledge of international financial reporting standards and treasury operations is essential.
