Overview:
Ipelegeng Transport Trust invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Service Vehicle Driver within its Technical Department. The successful candidate will provide secure and timely driving services for operational needs and support the administration team with transportation and messenger duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide secure and punctual driving services for goods collection and delivery.
- Transport staff and materials in line with company operational needs.
- Assist with daily administrative functions at the Stores Department.
- Act as a messenger by assisting with mail and document deliveries.
- Maintain the driver’s schedule and trip planning.
- Schedule annual vehicle services and manage vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and service records.
- Ensure adherence to road safety regulations and company health and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent academic qualification.
- Valid EC (Code 14) Driver’s Licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Minimum of 2 years’ driving experience.
- A Police Clearance Certificate must be submitted with the application.
Competencies:
Knowledge:
- Understanding of the bus passenger industry and workshop procedures.
- Familiarity with OHSA and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Knowledge of company disciplinary and operational policies.
Skills:
- Excellent driving, time management, and planning skills.
- Ability to read, write, and solve problems under pressure.
