Introduction
Eskom, South Africaโs leading power utility, is offering 20 exciting Learner Plant Operator opportunities at Kusile Power Station (Mpumalanga).
This programme provides institutional and on-the-job training designed to equip learners with the essential technical and operational skills required to function as qualified Plant Operators within Eskomโs generation environment.
Successful candidates will gain exposure to real-time plant operations and participate in a structured learning path focused on safety, technical excellence, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
-Participate in formal classroom and on-site training under the supervision of qualified Eskom mentors.
-Perform operational support duties in accordance with Eskomโs safety, quality, and performance standards.
-Learn to monitor and manage the performance of mechanical and electrical plant systems.
-Develop understanding of power generation processes, plant safety, and environmental compliance.
-Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork.

Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications (one of the following):
- Grade 12 with:
- Mathematics: 50%
- Physical Science: 50%
- English: 40%
- N3 Certificate with Maths 50%, Science 50%, and English 40%.
- NCV Level 4 with Maths 50%, Science 50%, and English 40%.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to work shifts and relocate to Kusile Power Station if necessary.
- Successful candidates will undergo Eskomโs recruitment and selection process, followed by structured plant training.
