Overview:
Sibanye-Stillwater invites applications for the Learnership 18.2 Learner Official Mining programme based at the Marikana Platinum Operation. This developmental opportunity aims to support individuals with the potential to become competent mining officials through structured training and mentorship.
Programme Objectives:
-Complete all modules of the official mining development programme within the allocated timeframe
-Understand the objectives of the programme and perform all associated tasks effectively
-Raise any concerns or obstacles impacting training completion
-Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Minimum Requirements:
-Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and English
-Medically fit to work in a mining environment
-Clear security screening record
-Valid driver’s license (where applicable)
Additional Advantageous Experience:
- Prior experience in a mining or relevant industrial environment will be considered an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Development:
-Participate fully in training and development activities
-Attend all scheduled classes and assessments
-Demonstrate progressive competency through performance and assessment
Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE):
-Attend SHE meetings as required
-Comply with all health, safety, and environmental standards and policies
-Use personal protective equipment and recognize workplace hazards
-Participate in on-the-job risk assessments
Reporting:
-Compile and present developmental progress reports
-Communicate any inconsistencies, challenges, or recommendations to relevant stakeholders’
