Job Overview
MASA Outsourcing (Pty) Ltd is urgently seeking a qualified and experienced Code 10 Driver with a Dangerous Goods Permit (DGP), Hazchem certification, and forklift operating experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transport of goods, including hazardous materials, and the operation of a forklift to load and unload items. This position requires a high level of attention to safety regulations and professional communication with clients.
Key Responsibilities
-Safely operate a Code 10 vehicle to transport goods within the Durban area, ensuring timely and secure deliveries.
-Transport hazardous materials in compliance with DGP and Hazchem safety protocols.
-Operate a forklift to load and unload goods, ensuring correct placement and adherence to safety standards.
-Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and forklift inspections, reporting any mechanical issues to management.
-Complete all delivery-related documentation, including logbooks, delivery notes, and inspection reports accurately.
-Ensure adherence to Hazchem safety standards for the handling, transport, and storage of hazardous goods.
-Communicate professionally with customers and clients, addressing any delivery-related concerns.
-Follow all health, safety, and road regulations to ensure the well-being of all parties involved.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Code 10 Driver’s License with a valid Dangerous Goods Permit (DGP) for transporting hazardous materials.
- Hazchem Certification for handling hazardous chemicals.
- Valid Forklift Operator License with proven experience in forklift operations.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional driving experience, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and local routes within the region.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
