Job Description:

Midas is looking for General Workers to join its Polokwane branch. The role involves performing various warehouse tasks such as stock-taking, binning, picking, packing, checking, moving stock, and maintaining a clean warehouse environment.

Specific Role Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Binning:
  • Follow standard operating procedures to bin incoming merchandise and replenish inventory from bulk to pick locations.
  • Allocate bin locations for new products in the correct warehouse areas.
  • Update bin information and report new bin locations to your supervisor.
  • Assist in replenishing stock.
  • Ensure incoming goods are received and checked according to company standards.
• Picking:
  • Timely pick customer and branch orders to meet order deadlines.
  • Pick from bulk locations only when stock is depleted or when processing bulk orders to prevent breakage.
  • Follow work instructions from your supervisor.
  • Assist in stock-taking procedures.
  • Maintain daily housekeeping.
  • Perform double checks to maintain high customer satisfaction and prevent inventory loss.
  • Consistently meet operational targets.
• Scanner Control:
  • Distribute scanners to operators daily.
  • Use the electronic app to book out and return scanners, inspect for damage, and log them back into stock.
  • Report any scanner damage to the supervisor.
  • Maintain the daily scanner issue spreadsheet.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.
• At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (preferred).
• Knowledge of spares, motor, or engine parts, as well as warehouse systems and procedures.
