Overview:
A reputable company in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, is looking for responsible and experienced Drivers to provide professional and efficient driving and delivery services. This role is essential to supporting the smooth functioning of the organization.
Responsibilities:
-Plan and execute delivery schedules, ensuring timely deliveries to clients.
-Communicate any delivery delays or non-deliveries to the relevant salesperson and adjust work schedules accordingly.
-Liaise with the sales team regarding accurate end-user contact details.
-Maintain professional and courteous conduct on the road and with clients at all times.
-Keep the vehicle clean, neat, and in presentable condition as per instructions.
- Ensure vehicle logbooks are maintained accurately.
- Inspect the vehicle before use, following a vehicle checklist, and report any issues immediately.
- Coordinate with customers regarding Proof of Delivery (POD) and arrange deliveries.
- Collaborate with a co-driver to load and unload the vehicle for deliveries.
- Handle special and urgent deliveries and collections as required.
- Complete and submit daily paperwork to the accounts department.
- Follow all traffic regulations, ensuring no fines or violations.
Requirements:
- Education: Matric (Grade 12).
- License: Valid Code 10 Driverโs License with a valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ driving experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of general administrative processes.
- Strong understanding of organizational structure and facility layout.
- In-depth knowledge of local routes and business locations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan and organize delivery schedules effectively.
- Excellent driving skills and adherence to road safety regulations.
