Overview:
The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is recruiting Housekeepers/General Workers to support its district operations across South Africa. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hospitable environment in NYDA offices. This includes a broad range of custodial services such as cleaning, hospitality support, and venue preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cleaning & Venue Setup:
- Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning restrooms
- Conduct workstation sanitizing and routine inspections
- Deep clean kitchen appliances (e.g., refrigerator and microwave) bi-monthly
- Prepare venues for meetings, training, or special events
- Comply with health and safety regulations
2. Restocking & Inventory Control:
- Monitor and restock consumables (e.g., toiletries, cleaning chemicals, tea/coffee supplies)
- Maintain inventory records and report low stock levels to the facilities team
- Ensure supply rooms are well-organized and stocked
3. Reporting & Communication:
- Submit weekly cleaning and stock checklists
- Report maintenance issues identified during inspections
- Maintain effective communication with coordinators and staff

Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Grade 10 with a National (Vocational) Certificate Level 2
- Preferred: Grade 12 with a National (Vocational) Certificate Level 4
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant cleaning experience
- Language: Proficiency in local language(s)
Work Relationships:
- Internal: Facility Manager, NYDA regional staff
- External: Local stakeholders and service providers
