Overview
Pick n Pay is seeking a skilled Functional Consultant to support the scoping, design, and implementation of innovative IT solutions across the business.
This role focuses on process automation, robotic process automation (RPA), solution configuration, testing, and optimisation, ensuring that Information & Technology (I&T) systems meet business requirements effectively and efficiently.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to enhance digital transformation initiatives and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Solution Delivery
- Participate in solution scoping, specification, configuration, and testing
- Ensure all projects have complete documentation and testing plans
- Provide second-level incident support to the business
- Identify, escalate, and mitigate potential project risks
- Maintain consistency, clarity, and completeness of assigned tasks
- Monitor workload and manage deliverables effectively
- Proactively communicate project progress, risks, and successes
Knowledge Management
- Control monthly system expenses within the application landscape
- Adhere to change control and document management policies
- Document all new or updated processes and store appropriately
- Promote knowledge sharing within the team
Process Optimisation
- Develop reusable automation solutions
- Align I&T systems to ensure integration and efficiency
- Drive improvements that enhance quality and reduce effort
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships
- Manage expectations and track solution delivery progress
- Adapt communication style to suit diverse audiences
- Anticipate and resolve potential conflicts that may impact delivery
Self-Management & Teamwork
- Model company values and maintain high productivity standards
- Stay updated on technology trends and relevant legislation

Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Information Technology
- Minimum 3 years relevant I&T experience
- Minimum 2 years experience working on medium to high-profile projects
- Experience in process automation or RPA (advantageous)
