Overview:
Starke Ayres, a leading African specialist and global supplier of premium seed varieties for commercial and home gardening, is seeking a responsible and experienced Light Motor Vehicle Driver. The successful candidate will be based at the Epping depot in Cape Town and will be tasked with transporting goods, documents, and personnel efficiently and safely. This role also involves basic vehicle upkeep and customer interaction during deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
-Drive light motor vehicles (less than 3000kg GVM) to deliver and collect goods/documents/people
-Supervise and assist with the loading of goods
-Verify items against Delivery Notes and secure proof of delivery (PODs) from customers
-Collect cash on delivery (COD) payments where applicable
-Ensure all delivered goods meet cleanliness and packaging standards
-Return all PODs, COD payments, and goods return vouchers (GRVs) to the supervisor upon return
-Maintain cleanliness and perform basic vehicle maintenance
Requirements:
-Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (Essential)
-Code 8 Driver’s License (Essential); Code 10 License (Advantageous)
-Valid PDP (Public Driving Permit) (Preferred)
-Must be willing to work overtime when required
-Good interpersonal and customer service skills
-Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks
