Position Overview
Morupule Coal Mine is seeking a qualified Maintenance Operative (Plumber) to support its plant operations by performing basic plumbing repairs, installations, and maintenance within the engineering function. The successful candidate will operate within the scope of their training and will contribute to safe and efficient underground coal mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
-Conducts basic repairs and installations on plant equipment and machinery.
-Replaces or removes defective plumbing parts and components as directed.
-Reads and interprets technical drawings and workshop manuals.
-Performs manual tasks including cleaning, painting, and transporting materials.
-Operates trade-specific equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
-Supports cost-saving initiatives and efficient resource usage within the team.
-Adheres to all quality assurance, safety, health, and environmental protocols.
-Maintains accurate administrative records and follows audit trail requirements.
-Collaborates with stakeholders to support business objectives.
-Continuously seeks to improve performance and service delivery.
Minimum Requirements
–Education: BGCSE/OโLevel + Trade Test B in Plumbing & Pipe Fitting or equivalent.
–Experience: At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in an engineering or plumbing environment, or successful completion of the Operatives Development Programme (ODP).
–License: Valid Class B Driverโs License.
–Knowledge: Understanding of SHE Management Systems (ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015).
-Must be medically and physically fit to work in an underground coal mining environment.
