Overview:
Wilderness Air Botswana is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and dedicated Quality Assurance Manager to join its high-performing team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive aviation knowledge, compliance leadership, and a collaborative spirit to help ensure the highest standards in operational safety, training, and regulatory adherence.
Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Accountable Executive, the Quality Assurance Manager will ensure that all operations comply with the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB) regulations and that Wilderness Air Botswana operates in strict accordance with its approved manuals and air service licenses. The role also encompasses oversight of both the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and the Approved Training Organization (ATO).
Key Responsibilities:
-Establish, implement, and maintain the Quality Assurance Programme for both AOC and ATO
-Monitor compliance with all internal procedures to ensure safe, compliant operations
-Oversee activities across flight operations, aircraft maintenance, crew training, and ground operations
-Ensure CAAB and internal standards are followed under respective post-holder supervision
-Administer and control the Company Operating Manuals
-Represent Wilderness Air Botswana during external audits and inspections
Minimum Requirements:
-Recognized Aviation Quality Assurance Management Certificate, including auditing training
-Minimum 5 years of experience in the aviation industry
-At least 3 years of experience in aviation post-holder roles
-In-depth knowledge of Botswana Civil Aviation Regulations
-Broad operational understanding of aircraft operations, training, maintenance, and aerodrome management
-Experience in tourist charter aviation environments
-Sound understanding of aviation risk and liability management
-Strong grounding in quality management principles and practices
Competencies & Additional Preferences:
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
- Computer literate and comfortable with QA systems
- Team-oriented with a cross-functional mindset
- Management diploma/certificate is advantageous
- Prior experience in multinational/multicultural environments
- Active involvement in tourism or aviation associations is an advantage
