Overview

A fixed-term vacancy exists for one (1) Receptionist at Addo Elephant National Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing front office services, guest assistance, and general reception duties. Please note that the successful candidate will need to stay outside the park and will be responsible for their own transport to and from work.


Key Responsibilities

-Receive and direct telephone calls, relay messages where necessary.

-Communicate effectively with guests, providing information about facilities and activities at Addo Elephant National Park.

-Welcome visitors and process computerised guest reservations, including check-in and check-out.

-Raise and process any extra charges, ensuring outstanding payments are collected according to company policy.

-Assist guests with reservation amendments, special requests, and close work shifts on the SANParks reservation system.

-Coordinate guestsโ€™ requests and complaints efficiently.

-Perform general administration tasks relevant to Reception and the Entrance Gate.

-Conduct ad-hoc administrative duties as requested by the Duty Manager.

-Occasionally perform Gate Official/Gate Administrator duties as required.

-Adhere to company dress code and operational protocols.


Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Std 10).

-National Diploma/N Diploma in Office Management & Technology, Office Administration, Secretarial Studies, Tourism, Hotel Management, or Hospitality.

1โ€“2 yearsโ€™ work experience in administrative or office assistant roles.

1โ€“2 yearsโ€™ experience as a receptionist/switchboard operator in a tourism or hospitality environment is desirable.

-Previous front office experience is advantageous.

-Good telephone etiquette, interpersonal, and administration skills.

-Computer literacy with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

-Knowledge of Room Seeker reservation system will be an added advantage.

-Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
