Overview

Mountain Zebra National Park is seeking a professional, customer-focused Receptionist to provide front-of-house service and administrative support to the Hospitality Services Manager. The role encompasses reception, switchboard, visitor liaison, venue bookings and general office administration in a busy tourism environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and direct telephone calls; relay messages timeously.
  • Welcome visitors/clients and notify relevant staff; ensure a comfortable waiting experience.
  • Receive and timeously notify employees of documents and deliveries.
  • Maintain reception presentation, adhere to dress code and protocol.
  • Keep a constant supply of brochures; provide information and promotional materials.
  • Maintain a visitorsโ€™ register and reception filing; support general office administration.
  • Reserve boardrooms/meeting venues; manage bookings and space allocations for staff and visitors.
  • Ensure meeting venues are set up and serviced (basic stationery and refreshments).
  • Manage meeting assets (audio-visual and presentation tools).
  • Assist with logistics and procurement of services (courier, catering) in coordination with Head Office.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements & Skills

  • National Diploma / N Diploma in one of: Office Management & Technology, Office Administration, Secretarial Studies, Tourism, Hotel Management, or Hospitality.
  • 2โ€“3 yearsโ€™ experience as a front office/receptionist/administrative assistant.
  • Tourism/hospitality reception or switchboard experience (advantage).
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word (essential).
  • Working knowledge of Roomseeker (advantage).
  • Valid driverโ€™s licence (advantage).
  • No criminal record (criminal and reference checks will be conducted).
  • Strong customer-service orientation; excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Good administration and numerical skills; sound interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English and two other local languages.

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Basic salary aligned to Paterson B5 grade, plus allowances and benefits as per SANParks HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Service.
  • Successful candidate will reside inside the park (accommodation provided).
