Purpose of the Position:
Scott Hospital is seeking a qualified and compassionate Registered Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive healthcare services to mothers and newborns. The role involves delivering physical, emotional, and mental care during the perinatal period, ensuring the well-being of both mother and child. The successful candidate will also play a key role in health education and collaboration within the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
-Deliver high-quality nursing and midwifery care to patients.
-Supervise and support nursing assistants in the ward.
-Conduct gynecological examinations and monitor patient vitals.
-Educate patients on nutrition, family planning, and general health.
-Prepare for and assist with childbirth, including cesarean sections.
-Provide postnatal care and support for mothers and newborns.
-Record patient information accurately and maintain care plans.
-Administer emergency procedures such as CPR.
-Participate in continuous professional development and research.
-Collaborate with the Nursing Officer and ward personnel in planning care.
-Order and manage medications and ward supplies.
-Ensure hygiene standards and safe practices are upheld.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
-Diploma in General Nursing and Diploma in Midwifery.
-Registered with the Lesotho Nursing Council (LNC).
-Valid LNC practicing license and up-to-date annual subscription.
-Active participation in sports is an added advantage.
