Overview

Bayport Financial Services is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Risk Officer Intern to join its Risk & Compliance team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in risk management within the financial services industry. The successful candidate will support key risk-related initiatives and help ensure operational compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory standards.


Position Purpose

To assist in the implementation and monitoring of risk management strategies, ensuring Bayport’s operations remain compliant and resilient. The intern will work under the guidance of the Risk & Compliance team to help manage, document, and mitigate operational risks across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

-Assist in developing and implementing risk management plans and procedures.

-Support risk assessments and help identify potential risks to the business.

-Update and maintain the organizationโ€™s risk profile and risk dashboards.

-Assist in aggregating, monitoring, and reporting on key risk areas to management.

-Support the execution of annual business impact analyses and ensure routine testing of recovery plans.

-Collaborate with departments to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.

-Monitor compliance matters and help prepare risk-related reports and documentation.

-Assist in delivering risk management awareness and training sessions for staff.

-Promote a strong risk management culture across the organization.

-Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Governance, Risk, and Compliance.


Minimum Qualifications

-Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.

-Less than one year of experience in the financial services sector (risk knowledge will be an advantage).


Skills and Competencies

-Strong analytical, research, and reporting skills.

-Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

-Good understanding of policy formulation, project planning, and strategic thinking.

-High integrity, independence, and professionalism.

-Strong time management and decision-making capabilities.

-Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
