Overview
Rubicon is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant/Driver to support its warehouse and logistics operations in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the seamless flow of goods within the warehouse—from receiving and storage to packaging, dispatch, and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving
-Identify shipment origins and types (customer, supplier, inter-branch).
-Physically place received stock in designated warehouse areas.
-Report discrepancies such as damaged, short, or over-supplied stock to the supervisor and procurement.
-Capture and follow up on discrepancy reports within 5 days of submission.
Storage
-Store items securely to prevent damage and promote safety.
-Ensure items are labeled and packaged correctly according to company standards.
Order Fulfilment
-Remove damaged items from shelves and escalate to stock control.
-Understand and manage stock destination and delivery type.
-Collaborate with internal departments to meet delivery commitments.
Packaging & Dispatch
-Package items to reduce damage and enhance presentation.
-Label all loose items properly according to SOPs.
-Coordinate deliveries to align with company objectives and budget.
-Scan and record PODs (Proof of Delivery) daily.
-Confirm delivery details (address and contact) before dispatch.
Documentation
-Ensure all stock movements are properly documented and signed by both sender and receiver.
-Follow company SOPs for document storage and handling discrepancies.
Health & Safety
-Enforce company H&S policies for warehousing and transport.
-Perform vehicle inspections and ensure roadworthiness.
-Operate company vehicles safely in accordance with regulations.
Requirements
-Minimum Matric/NQF 4 qualification
-Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience
-Minimum 2 years of delivery driving experience
-2+ years in fleet and contract management
-Valid EC Driver’s License
