Overview:

MMG-Khoemacau Copper Mining is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety and Health Officer to implement, coordinate, and maintain health and safety programmes across our mining operations. This role ensures compliance with both Khoemacau and legal SHE standards while promoting a strong safety culture among employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

-Implement and maintain health & safety policies, procedures, and programs.

-Conduct inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and operations to identify hazards and risks.

-Investigate workplace incidents and compile detailed reports with corrective actions.

-Carry out critical control verifications and emergency preparedness drills.

-Promote engagement, awareness, and accountability in safety practices.

-Manage contractor onboarding and adherence to SHE requirements.

-Provide technical guidance on safety and health issues at departmental meetings.

Requirements and Skills:

-Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, or equivalent qualification.

-Minimum 3 years of experience in SHE, preferably in an underground mining environment.

-Sound understanding of ISO standards including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001.

-Training in safety-related courses such as SAMTRAC, Risk Assessment, Fire Protection, and Auditing.

-Strong investigative, communication, and leadership skills to ensure safety compliance.
