Overview:

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a dedicated and responsible Cashier to join the team at the Mokopane Biodiversity Conservation Centre (MBCC). The role requires an enthusiastic professional with a passion for operations and public engagement, capable of managing access control, processing payments, and handling general administration.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Candidates must have one of the following:

  • Grade 10 (NQF Level 2) with 5 years relevant work experience
  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) with 4 years relevant work experience
  • A qualification at NQF Level 5 will be an added advantage

Essential Competencies:

  • Proven experience in cash handling and processing electronic payments
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project)
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly, professional, and customer-oriented approach
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with at least one year of driving experience
  • Willingness to travel nationally as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cashier and access control duties
  • Process customer transactions and queries
  • Maintain administrative records and manage bookings and donations
  • Handle HR-related tasks, liaise with stakeholders, and support ad hoc operational activities
